Queer Nova Scotian duo Pillow Fite have returned with their new single, ‘More Of That’. It’s a slow-burn slice of indie-folk that places melody at its core. However, the pair aren’t afraid to throw in a few curveballs here and there, including the climactic, guitar-led instrumental that fills its final moments. “I remember coming home from that trip and telling Aaron I was in love,” explains lead singer Art Ross, of the track’s genesis. “He, of course, thought I was simply being very lesbian and this fascination would die down after some time apart. But it didn’t and we spent the next year in a long-distance relationship.” The new Pillow Fite album, Hard Feelings, Soft Promises, drops on October 11th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
